I've been lying to myself, ignoring my car's inability to grasp third gear. Today, I came clean with myself and finally admitted a need a new clutch.
Hell, the first one lasted 80K with me learning how to drive stick on it!
But now, I guess I'll be reaching into the 'Oh $hit Fund' for a replacement.
Anyone wanna enlighten me on how much it should cost to replace the clutch on a 2007 Volvo S60?
EDIT: STEALERSHIP WANTS $3140 BEFORE TAX.

I want a new clutch
One that won't make my gears slip
One that won't make me crash my car
Or make me feel three feet thick
Sorry, it popped in my head and I couldn't stop.

No clue how accessible volvo designed their bellhousing to be. A wild guess 3-400 for the kit and 5-6 hours labour. ~1k altogether before tax?

Yikes! I just looked up the clutch kit price. $400-600. That's expensive even if you DIY.

Wow that is not cheap! I got a clutch and flywheel for my Accord for $300, but I got a hell of a deal.

You need an engine support brace. Support the engine from above, remove the bolts holding the engine to the subframe, remove subframe. Disconnect axles, pull transmission. Replace clutch. Repeat in reverse.
Edit I thought you asked "how to replace" not "how much to replace" Try and independent shop. Doesn't even need to be a volvo shop. Replacing a clutch on a transverse-mounted engine is fairly straight forward.
